Comfort Zones

Comfort Zone, funny phrase that isn’t it? It’s the place where we know who we are, don’t we? It’s the place we are who we’ve become used to being anyway. What if that comfort zone is no longer comfortable enough for you to stay there?




Sometimes our comfort zones, become uncomfortable but we stay because that's what we are used to. It's normal for us it's our usual. But actually, it's probably hurting us a lot more than we care to admit to anybody but ourselves, and sometimes not even to ourselves. So how do we know when we're ready to move? I can't answer that question for you, only you can answer that question. You really need to ask yourself that question, is it time to move? Is staying where you are becoming more uncomfortable than comfortable? Are you feeling unsettled, as if there has to be something more to life than this. Or just as if something is missing, a missing piece in the jigsaw puzzle.



In order to move from the comfort zone, you're going to have to make yourself feel a bit more uncomfortable. On an unconscious level you know this and often this is what prevents action. What if I told you it’s only more uncomfortable because it's different though, not because it's too difficult to change or dangerous. I'm sure there's been times before that you've changed, that you've got through it. I’m sure that actually the change that you've made has been something that was good, that you've liked. Something that you managed really well.



So what's stopping you now? You know that you're not quite comfortable where you are you, that it's not quite right. You're feeling irritated, you're feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you’re feeling sad or anxious. Often these are signs that our comfort zone is no longer comfortable. It's no longer what's making us feel normal anymore. So what can you do about it? You could try to make the shift yourself. You could get try to get yourself out of it. Or you could ask somebody to help you. That's where coaching can be really helpful. I can help you move. I can help you work out where you want to be, what is stopping you from getting there then begin to work out how you can get to where you want to be. Coaching can help you make the shift quicker than you can alone because I can be there asking you those questions you won’t ask yourself. Those questions even your best friend won’t ask you. The ones that really get to the heart of the matter and can help you get to where you want to be quicker than trying to get there yourself.
